Although they reside in Massachusetts, Lisa and Tyler can often be found in NH. “We absolutely love NH! We spend a lot of time in NH in the summer and try to make at least one trip up in the winter months. It has been a huge part of our relationship and we have made so many memories there, including our engagement, which took place in the White Mountains,” says Lisa. “We found the Northstar House (where the wedding took place) on a vacation rental website and immediately fell in love. We booked it right away; when we visited a few months later to tour the home and grounds we were blown away! It was everything we could have ever wanted…and more.”

The couple wanted a wedding that was a little different—something that had a laid-back feel while at the same time was elegant and romantic. Lisa says, “We knew we weren’t going to go on a honeymoon right away so we wanted to find a home where we could stay for a few days after the wedding. We booked the Northstar House from the Thursday before the wedding to the Thursday after. It was so nice to be able to reflect on our special day while taking advantage of the river, mountain views, and the little shops/restaurants that the area has to offer.”

Lisa planned the wedding with input from Tyler. As animal lovers (Lisa says their dog is like their child!), they wanted to incorporate their pets into the wedding. A few months after getting engaged, they started to plan the wedding, which gave Lisa about 14 months to get everything prepared.

One thing that was extremely special to me was my late Nana’s rosary beads that I incorporated into my flower bouquet.”

With 136 guests, the wedding day was casual with antique details and vintage décor.

“The wedding colors were purples, greys, whites, peaches, and silver. The bridesmaids wore different dresses in varying shades of purple. The guys wore grey suits, white shirts, and purple checkered ties,” Lisa says.

“We purchased the flowers from the Flower Exchange in Boston and put the bouquets and centerpieces together ourselves. This was such a fun experience that I got to share with my best friend/maid-of-honor,” Lisa adds.

Guests enjoyed a buffet meal of Delmonico steak, rosemary chicken, ritz crusted haddock, vegetarian pasta, red potatoes, and green beans.

“We decided to go with a smaller two-tier wedding cake and cupcakes. They were absolutely delicious! The flavors were lemon with raspberry filling, chocolate with chocolate gnash filling, red velvet with cream cheese filling and vanilla.”

The day was captured by Michelle Heath Photography. “Michelle is not only an amazing photographer, but an amazing person. We loved her the second we met her,” says Lisa. “She truly loves what she does and it really shows in her performance and her work!”
